With great sadness we announce the passing of Michael N. Del Purgatorio, 90, of Riverview Park, Muhlenberg Twp., on Friday July 16th in the Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since July 9th. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was predeceased by his devoted wife of 65 years, Vera (Grenot) Del Purgatorio in 2008.

Born in Hoboken N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Iacovelli) Del Purgatorio.

Michael retired as a supervisor after many years of service from David Kahn Pens, Deer Lake, PA.
Michael was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading.
Michael served in the Army during World War II in Japan.
Michael was a member of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey, Burlington, N.J.

Michael loved life, was a great story teller and lived for his family and friends. Everyone that met him loved him. He will truly be missed by all that had the honor of meeting him.

Survivors include, one daughter, Lynda Prescott, wife of John Prescott of Riverview Park and one son, Michael Del Purgatorio, Jr. of Springfield, PA.
Two granddaughters, Christine Joachim, wife of Walter Joachim of Springfield, PA and Lisa Ventura of Drexel Hill, PA.
Also, two great granddaughters, Jordan and Haley Joachim.

Also, there is one brother, Perry Del Purgatorio and wife Alice of Hasbrook Heights, N.J. and two sisters, Olympia, wife of Philip Rottini of Woodridge, N.J. and Roseann Stephanian of Utah.

A special nephew Ronald and wife Margaret Jones. Many loving nieces and nephews in addition to great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday July 20th at 11:30 AM in Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave., Reading, PA with Reverend Dr. Stephen Ohnsman officiating. Entombment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday morning from 9 - 11 AM in Milkins Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, PA.
