Arlene M. Althouse, age 86, formerly of Temple died Friday morning in the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township where she was a resident since June 2009. She was the companion of Russell Fry who died in 2003.

Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Scholl) Reber.

She had worked for K-Mart for many years.

She is survived by one son; William, husband of Sharon Baker of Findley, OH. Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son, Lee Althouse.

She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Carol Althouse, Muhlenberg Township, with whom she last resided.


Arlene enjoyed playing Bingo at the Temple Fire Company.

Private services and burial will be at the convenience of family.
