E. Louise Potteiger 69 of Lewes, DE and formerly of Elizabethtown, Lancaster County died January 31, 2010 in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes shortly after being admitted.

She was the wife of the Rev. P. Larry Potteiger.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Elizabeth Buck.

She was a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School and a 1961 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for Lancaster General Hospital and the Elizabethtown Childrens’ Hospital.

She was director of nursing for the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Manheim and was last employed as administrator for the Long Home, Lancaster retiring in 2007.

She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Christ United Church of Christ, Elizabethtown where her husband served as pastor prior to retirement. She also served on the Womens Guild and the Prayer Shawl Ministry there.

Louise was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Wellness Community, the Thrift Shop, Creative Hands, the First Town Club and the Lutheran Church of Our Savior Bread Ministry, all in Delaware.

Other survivors include 2 sons Scott A. Potteiger and wife Cindy of Denver, Lancaster County, Gregory D. Potteiger and wife Sandra of Great Falls, VA and 1 daughter Anne E. Horn of Dewey Beach, DE. There are also 5 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 1 brother William Buck.

Memorial services will be March 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Christ UCC 247 S. Market Street Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Inurnment will take place privately in Laureldale Cemetery Columbarium, Muhlenberg Township.
